Country’s largest mass meditation is snowballing into a movement creating waves of happiness


In the wake of North America's largest meditation event, America Meditates,
a new campaign is helping thousands of Americans to find sustainable
inner peace and less stress on International Peace Day this September. 


On July 24th in Denver, the America
Meditates event by Art of Living brought together hundreds of thousands
of people meditating together in one of the biggest meditations in the
US. Over four thousand people joined in person in Denver, together with
satellite events in 129 US cities and online participants from 48
countries in over 116,000 locations. 


On the wave of this national event, the Art of Living is offering Happiness Program nationwide in 100+ cities from September 20-22 to help Americans find their inner peace and drop their stress - a much-needed shift in current times.


The Happiness Program, the cornerstone of
the September initiative, offers participants Sudarshan Kriya (SKY), an
evidence-based breathing and meditation practice that has been shown by
independent research to:


- Significantly reduce clinical and non-clinical anxiety


- Significantly decrease stress hormones (showing a 56% reduction in serum cortisol) 


- Significantly reduce PTSD


Shares Brittany Potier, an entrepreneur
who has gone through the training, "Learning to manage my own mind and
body through breathing practices has truly been the greatest gift.
Practicing SKY everyday has helped me heal past wounds, become more
confident in myself and more aware of everything in my life so that I
can be a better me." 


According to the program coordinator,
Annelies Richmond, "There's never been a more relevant time for people
to learn practical tools to feel more calm, peaceful and interact with
others in healthier ways. With all the stress and violence we see around
us, it's important to have healthy ways to let go of stress, boost
wellness, stay calm and move society forward."


The Happiness Program will run the
weekend of Sept 20-22, Friday through Sunday, and feature a guest
appearance live online with international peacemaker, meditation expert
and humanitarian, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who started the program almost
forty years ago.
