Russell Crowe bought Leonardo DiCaprio's dinosaur skull, blames 'a bunch of vodka'  1 Month ago

Source:   USA Today

Once upon a time in Hollywood Russell Crowe bought a dinosaur skull from Leonardo DiCaprio, as one does, because, after all, stars are just like us!

The "Boy Erased" actor spoke of his purchase on "The Howard Stern Show" Wednesday. Crowe, 55, said he bought the item about a decade ago for his sons with his former wife Danielle Spencer: Charles, now 15, and Tennyson, now 12.

Crowe said he cuts himself "a little bit of slack" as "there was a bunch of vodka involved in the transaction."

It began, Crowe said, when DiCaprio revealed he wanted to unload the skull and buy another. "I said, ‘I’ll buy it,’ " Crowe said laughing.

He remembered DiCaprio being "pretty cool" about negotiating. "He said, ‘Just give me what I paid for it,’ and I think he paid, like, 30 or 35 grand or something.”

“Part of the reason for buying it is that when I did buy it – which was around about 2008 or 2009 – my kids, particularly my oldest, were fascinated, and they were into dinosaurs," Crowe added, "so, 'There you go. Here’s one for the playroom.' ” Let's hope they were entertained.

The skull was sold as a part of Crowe's "Art of Divorce" auction last year.
