Description:

“As alleged, Bhaskar is not the PA of MLA Maganti Gopinath. He is just a follower. After undergoing first-aid at Gandhi hospital, Chandu is learnt to have gone back to his native town Guntur. We are trying to contact him and his phone is not available,” the SHO told indianexpress.com. After visuals of a man being brutally thrashed by a group of youngsters emerged and are being widely shared on social media, the Jubilee Hills police in Hyderabad registered an FIR against the assailants and started a search for them. While it is being said that the man attacking the victim was the local MLA’s personal assistant, Jubilee Hills police denied the same. In the video, a man can be seen seated on the road while at least six to seven people have rounded him. One among them can be seen beating him with a piece of wood while others take turns to slap and punch the victim who appears indefensible. The incident is said to have occurred late on Saturday night near Yousufguda in the city. According to the police, at around 2 a.m. Sunday when Chandu was speaking with a woman on the streets of Krishna Nagar when another person Lalith came up to them and asked why they were standing there. “An argument took place and Chandu pushed away Lalith’s bike. Lalith’s friends Bhaskar and others intervened and this led to a fight. Chandu hit Bhaskar’s head with a stone and he sustained five stitches. An aggressive Bhaskar and four of his friends started beating up Chandu indiscriminately,” Jubilee Hills Station House Officer (SHO) P Ravindra Prasad said. Though Chandu was unavailable, the police have registered an FIR invoking sections 307 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon) and 149 (unlawful assembly with common goal) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
